It’s wicked Wednesday. Hump Day. The week is half over. Time for a wicked indulgence. Comfort for a bad day or celebration for a good day. You earned it.
Today’s wicked indulgence: Take a walk on the wild side!!!! A twenty or thirty minute walk will clear your head, improve your mood, and energize you. Fresh air is essential. Load your brain up with oxygen and endorphins so you can think clearly and feel good.
Walking can make you feel sexier. ” The more frequently you can trigger the release of endorphins via sex or exercise, the easier it is to become sexually aroused. In a study of over 5,500 Finnish women in their forties and fifties, statistically significant positive associations were observed between strenuous exercise and orgasm experiences for women in their forties.” ( Ojanlatva, A., et al. “Sexual activity and perceived health among Finnish middle-aged women.” Health and Quality of Life Outcomes 4 (2006): 29.)
There is no downside to walking. Grab a good pair of walking shoes, some good music, your dog, or a friend and go. Walk fast or stroll. Walk in your neighborhood, a park, the beach, or even your local shopping mall. Just remember to breathe.
Meditative walking can be an amazing experience. It is all about mindfulness. Mindfulness is about living in the moment. It is being aware of your thoughts, sensations, feelings, surroundings and accepting them as real. Thoughts and feelings are observed but not judged.
Breath walking is a simpler form or meditative walking. It is very easy to do and the benefits are just as good as the more formal kinds of meditation. Basically you focus on your breath and how your body feels. You want to match your breathing with your steps to a count of four breaths in and four out. It is best to walk alone and without music or other distractions until you have mastered the process. It’s easy. It won’t take long to become proficient and it will make you feel so good!!!!
Start walking. Breathe deeply and smell the air. Feel the air on your skin. Find a comfortable, steady pace or stride. Gently swing your arms in opposition to your feet. Relax. Practice counting your steps until you find a rhythm: One. Two. Three. Four. One. Two. Three. Four. Practice breathing in through your nose in time with your steps: one. two. three. four, and then breathing out of your nose or mouth for four steps/counts. Tips: Keep your posture upright but relaxed for maximum breathing and find a focal point on your trail to remind you when to stop meditating. Keep your attention focused on your steps and your breaths. You can use tapping or a mantra if it helps you focus.
Walking really is a miracle. It will make you happier and healthier. It will help you lose weight, improve your cardiovascular system, and strengthen your bones and muscles. Regular walking helps you sleep better at night and improves your sex life. It will boost your mood and your energy.
Walking is invigorating when you are feeling tired and sluggish. It can relax you if you are upset, angry, or irritated. Meditation gives your mind a rest. It helps you to stop worrying and overthinking. It slows you down so you can enjoy life minute by minute. It connects you with your body.
Breath walking is easy and pleasurable. Try it – you will absolutely love it!
