It’s wicked Wednesday. Hump Day. The week is half over. Time for a wicked indulgence. Comfort for a bad day or celebration for a good day. You earned it.
It is a scorching hot summer day and you are melting! You are you hot, tired, irritable, uncomfortable, sweaty, sunburnt. You have a heat rash all over.
Summer temperatures can be hot as hell! You need to cool off quickly. Rehydrate. Regenerate. Refrigerate.
Today’s wicked indulgence: Chill out. Simmer down. Loosen up. Calm yourself. Be cool as a cucumber. Take a chill pill.
You need a cool shower, a cool drink, some quiet time, maybe a nap, and a light snack or dinner.
For a quick cool down, you can always duck your head into the freezer or jump into the nearest pool. Or, you can take a cool, refreshing shower or bath with a cool, soothing bath cleanser. Use a cooling soap like mint, cucumber, or aloe. I love Bath & Body Works CocoShea Aloe Cucumber products. CocoShea Aloe Cucumber scrubs and cleansers are loaded with cocoa butter, Shea butter, and aloe and have super soothing and moisturings properties. They are cooling, refreshing, and revitalizing. The scent smells so good! You will smell clean, crisp, and fresh. I keep the aloe gel lotion and also the mist in the refrigerator for an extra cooling treatment.

You need to replace fluids when your body sweats. Hydrate. Make yourself a refreshing drink.
Drink lots of cold, icy water, lemonade, or ice tea. Drink plenty of water everyday and even more when you are sweating or exercising. Drinking lots of water will flush out the toxins in your body. It will make you healthier, help you lose weight, and make your skin glow. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated beverages when you are really, really thirsty.
Plain water can be boring. Cucumber infused water is a very refreshing and delicious summer drink. It sooths your skin from the inside out. Cucumbers are an excellent source for vitamins that support skin health. Cucumbers are also good for the treatment of acne . They help prevent cancer, lower blood pressure, and boost bone health.
Rest. Lie down with chilled cucumber slices over your eyes and a simple cucumber mask for 5 -15 minutes. Cucumber slices will sooth tired eyes, reduce undereye swelling and puffiness, and lighten under eye circles. Tighten your pores with a cucumber mask of puréed cucumber and yogurt.
Rest, relax, and recharge your batteries. Recline under a ceiling fan or cool breeze. Read a good book. Watch a movie. Phone a friend. Play a game. Chill.
Snack or eat a light supper. Go easy on your digestive tract. Your body is working hard to cool off and you don’t want indigestion, gas or bloating. Also, it is just too damn hot to cook and a hot kitchen is not where you want to be. Eat light. Salads, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, fruit, cheese, and raw vegetables are simple and delicious on hot summer nights. Choose foods high in water such as cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, and most fruits and vegetables. Keep it light and you’ll feel better and more energized. Cucumbers are sexy. Cucumbers are phallic and are also an aphrodisiac. The scent of cucumbers is highly arousing to women, especially when added to the scent of black licorice. The scent stimulates desire in women by increasing blood flow to the vagina. Just looking at cucumbers can be arousing.
What else can you do with a cucumber?
Sooth hunger pangs. Cucumbers are low in calories and have a high amount of fiber.
Cucumbers sooth a sunburn.
Suck a cucumber slice to freshen bad breath.
Reduce stress. The aroma released when boiling a sliced cucumber in a pot has been proven to be very calming and relaxing.
Eating cucumber slices before bed can reduce hangover symptoms and headaches.
Dip cucumber slices in a little fat-free ranch dressing for a filling snack instead of potato chips.
