I have not read many books by Sharon Sala but I really enjoyed A Piece of My Heart. I love these books about small town communities – the people are so nice!
Mercy and Hope are orphan sisters who were separated at a very young age. When Hope was adopted, she lost lost contact with Mercy who was left in the foster care system. They are reunited when Mercy is called to donate her rare blood to an accident victim who turns out to be Hope. Both women have grown into lovely women. Hope is married and is a well loved nurse. Mercy is kind of a maverick and is very tough and self-reliant. She has trust issues but is a very compassionate person with good morals.
Mercy moves to the small town of Blessings to be near her sister and it is there that her life begins to fall into place. She finds family, love, friends, and a great career.
It is a bit of a fairy tale with Mercy as the superhero and lots of coincidences. Mercy is a good role model. She is someone who has been treated badly but she is not afraid to take chances with her heart. A Piece of My Heart made me feel good and I will be looking for the rest of the books in the series.
There are four books in the series ad one novella:
I’ll Stand By You (2015)
Saving Jake (2016)
A Piece of My Heart (2017)
A fifth book – The Color of Love is in progress and expected to be published on February 6, 2018.
