Happy Fall Y’all! It sounds a little silly but I think it is rather cute. Only four more days until the official start of autumn! The smells, tastes, and sights are already here. The nights are getting colder, leaves are beginning to turn pretty colors, pumpkin spice smells are everywhere, and the football season has begun.
I get very excited about pumpkin spice. My home is scented with sweet pumpkin spice. I have candles, wallflowers, and hand soap. Bath & Body Works has some delicious new autumn scents including Bourbon Magic, Flipping Awesome Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, and Champagne Apple & Honey. They have cute pumpkin shaped hand wash. There is also an adorable owl wallflower that doubles as a nightlight plugin and a large rustic barn wallflower too. The Bath & Body Store is amazing and shopping from their website is easy as pie.
Fall is an amazing time to celebrate. The days are getting shorter and darker and we need color and fun activities to pump up our moods. Energize. Here are just a few things I like to do this time of the year:
1. Drink. Pumpkin spice lattes and hot apple cider. Schafly Pumpkin Ale is good too!
2. Bake. I love to bake pumpkin bread and pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies.
3. Enjoy nature. I love the feeling and smell of cool, crisp, air and the earthy smell of leaves. I like taking long afternoon walks and going to football games, wiener roasts, orchards and pumpkin patches.
4. Decorating. I love fall decorations: pumpkins, scarecrows, mums, pinecones. I love to decorate my front door, my fireplace mantel and my kitchen.
I really like the fall season. It is a beautiful season and seems like a nice little break before the rush of Christmas and the rigors of winter.
Weekly Goal: Enjoy
Last week was a difficult one. I had a very hard time sleeping and I felt irritated and crabby. My husband had a hard week at work and was very crabby. We were both exhausted and frustrated all week.
We were “at home” all weekend. We drove to the park a few times and walked around it. We rested. We watched tv. We napped. We cooked some delicious meals for dinner. We phoned our children. We watched a good movie Saturday night on HBO. Hidden Figures is a movie about three brilliant African-American women who get jobs at NASA before the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit for the first time. It is based on a true story and was very interesting and uplifting. The three women were treated terribly at the beginning but earned the respect of everyone at NASA in the end. While we hated the disrespect and discrimination, we loved the simplicity of the time period. Read a description and reviews of Hidden Figures at Amazon.com.
Last week, I worked hard on starting my eBay store and I totally love it. After much deliberation, I named it the Wild Rose Gift Shoppe and I will be filling it with some amazing gifts for Christmas and other occasions. You can visit my store at: the Wild Rose Gift Shoppe.
My goal this week is to relax, enjoy life, and be happy. No worries this week. No need to rush. I’ve got a list of things to do but no timetable.
The best part of last week was riding to the park in our convertible car Saturday morning. It was a beautiful, sunny fall day. My hot and sexy husband was so happy to be driving his new toy. We had a lovely two mile walk and companionable conversation. It was fun. I love spending my weekends with him. We will be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary this week.
Hope you have a wonderful week!
