I have been so tired, hungry, and sore lately. Hangry. I’m not sleeping well. I’m craving brownies. Something is not right. I must be dehydrated or not eating enough. Maybe I am eating the wrong foods, or I could be over exercising. I don’t know what is causing the problem. I need to drink more water, eat just a little more, make better food choices, and do gentle exercise for a few days.
I’m making a list of hunger busters to tape on my refrigerator to help me manage my hunger for the next few days:
To manage hunger:
Eat lean protein.
Eat high fiber foods: apples, potatoes, oatmeal, sweet potatoes
Eat good fats: spoon of peanut butter, handful of nuts.
Eat hot soup before meals.
Fill up on salad and raw veggies.
Eat something small frequently to keep blood sugar even
For sugar cravings:
Eat sugar free jello
Drink 20 calorie hot chocolate
Drink sugar free flavored coffee.
For carbohydrate cravings:
Eat hot air popcorn with no calorie spray butter.
For chocolate cravings:
Twenty calorie hot chocolate
Fudge bar, chocolate
Yoplait yogurt whip
Sugar free chocolate pudding
Drizzle chocolate syrup on a sliced banana
Chew up food and spit it out before swallowing. That’s a little disgusting. I’m not sure I can do that.
Manage hunger until time to eat:
2. Chew gum
3. Sniff vanilla through your right nostril to reduce anxiety and appetite.
5. Keep busy
6. Find a distraction
